"There was a time in my life when I questioned every choice I had made. Lost, exhausted, and disconnected—even from the art that once brought me joy—I felt a profound shift. My natural lightness, my lightness of being, had faded into a fog of self-doubt and depression. In that dark time, I realized how powerful our thoughts truly are. I discovered how essential it is to have a supportive inner circle. This realization became the inspiration for my latest painting, 'Inversion'.
'Inversion' is both an exploration of energy and a visual manifestation of my journey. The two figures that emerge in the painting are mirror images, yet their energies are distinct—one is bathed in light (brighter), the other more in shadow (darker colors). This dynamic embodies the inversion process, where negativity can be transformed into positivity and where we find harmony by balancing opposing forces within ourselves".
The Duality of Energy: Masculine and Feminine Forces within Us
In 'Inversion', as with much of my work, a single, human-like figure emerges from the canvas. The lines are delicate and ethereal, suggesting both the fragility and the power inherent in human energy. These figures are bathed in bright, blissful colors—representing the high-frequency vibrations of positive thinking. Yet, just as easily, the figures could have been shadowed in darker tones—reflecting the inversion of their energy when consumed by negativity.
The figures in the painting can be seen as embodying both masculine and feminine energies. The choice of colors may represent the feminine, intuitive energy, while the structure, more defined lines may reflect the masculine, active force. These energies are not binary—they are fluid and dynamic within every individual. Each of us carries both masculine and feminine energies, and how we balance them shapes our inner state and the energy we project outward. The inversion, then, is a metaphor for the balance (or imbalance) of these forces.
Soul Partners and the Inversion of Relationships
For some viewers, the painting may represent not just personal energy but the concept of soul partners—those with whom we share a deep, spiritual connection. The inversion can symbolize the idea of two individuals coming together, each carrying their unique energy, yet meeting in the middle, creating harmony and unity. This convergence represents the delicate dance between masculine and feminine forces within a relationship—whether between two individuals or within the self.
The figure’s position suggesting almost as if they are meeting or merging, could evoke the idea of two soul partners who reflect one another, sometimes in their differences, and other times in their shared experiences. This inversion could then be understood as a representation of the way relationships mirror our inner states. The energies between soul partners can ebb and flow, shifting from balance to imbalance, but when aligned, they create a powerful, harmonious force—just as the figures in the painting embody a dynamic tension.
Energy and Vibration: The Science of Inversion
Nikola Tesla once said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” This truth underpins both the visual elements and the philosophy behind 'Inversion'. The painting is not just a reflection of the mind's capacity for light or darkness, but also a meditation on the invisible forces that govern us—our thoughts, frequencies, and energies.
For me, personally, 'Inversion' represents the power of thoughts—the way our mental energy shapes our inner and outer worlds. The figure’s transformation from dark to light, from shadow to brightness, symbolizes the shifting of thought patterns, where negativity can be turned into positivity, and doubt can give way to clarity. This message is deeply tied to my own journey and the realization that by consciously choosing our thoughts, we can change the energy that we project into the world.
However, art is a deeply personal experience, and the beauty of this piece lies in its openness to interpretation. To some, the painting might evoke the concept of masculine and feminine energies—forces that are found within every person, regardless of gender. The figures, with their delicate yet powerful form, could represent the harmony or imbalance between these dual energies. The inversion then symbolizes the fluidity and dance between the active, outward-directed masculine energy and the receptive, nurturing feminine energy within us all.
For others, the painting may reflect relationships—soul partners who mirror one another in both their strengths and weaknesses. The inversion here takes on a more relational meaning: how two individuals, like mirrors, reflect one another and help each other find balance in the dance of energies. As in the painting, this inversion symbolizes the meeting of two forces that, while different, are drawn toward each other, seeking unity and wholeness.
As Joe Dispenza (2014) wisely put it, “Your thoughts are incredibly powerful. Choose the good ones.” Today, we stand at the crossroads of thought. The inversion of our mental state, from negativity to positivity, is a conscious choice we make each day. This inversion is also a choice of how we balance the energies within us—whether we honor both the masculine and feminine forces that shape who we are, and how we navigate relationships with others.
So, I ask you—what will you choose to cultivate in your mind today? How will you nurture the roses of your thoughts and allow them to flourish? Will you honor both the masculine and feminine energies within you? Will you choose to cultivate a relationship with yourself that reflects harmony and unity? And, in doing so, how might you transform the relationships you share with others?
The power to create a better world starts within, through the energy we emit, the thoughts we nurture, and the balance we maintain. Let us all choose to invert our minds, honor our inner dualities, and, in doing so, help invert the world toward peace, love, and mutual understanding.
With Love, Nina
